MAPPING THE RISK RESPONSE STRATEGIES ON CLASSIFIED BUILDING CONSTRUCTION-RELATED RISKS

Research works in construction tend to focus on identifying and analyzing risk factors associated with projects. The researcher has identified several building projects that are mainly attributed the contractor. Risk response strategies also developed include: Avoid, Retain, Reduce Transfer. However, no research suggests which category of avoid, retain, reduce or transfer. This aims map out for varying Building Construction Projects. It can be achievable by from theliterature, assessing each stakeholder’s level importance attached factor, most relevant factors, mapping factors. study adopted a questionnaire where 68 valid questionnaires were analyzed using frequencies, means percentages. result shows there 54 projects, 36 high significance. There is significantly positive relationship between probability occurrence impact factor i.e. higher impact. 37% managed reducing, 28% avoiding,20% retaining 19% transferring. Thus, best ‘reduce’ ‘avoid’. Finally, recommends all stakeholders understand implement these accordingly.
